the movable field elements with 8 vertical levels

2. The game description in detail

The 3D-chess has 4 easily movable field elements with 8 vertical levels, which are marked with roman numbers from "I" to "VIII".

The four partitioned fields have a complete base of 400 x 400 mm.

The possibilities of the combinations can almost completely be transferred from the 2D-chess on 3D-chess. The rules of the game are therefore almost identical.

The figures:

King, queen, bishops, knights and rooks are located in the same number and position on level "I." in the fields from "a.1." to "h.1." and the pawns from "a.2." to "h.2.", like it is at the 2D-chess game.

To protect the figures in the starting position by the pawns, there must be pawns in addition to the row one level "I." from "a.2." to "h.2.", also 2 rows on level "II.", from "a.1." to "h.1." and from "a.2." to "h.2."

The rules:

  1. There are 2 game variants, "Version A" is without a spatial diagonal, while "Version B" is played with a spatial diagonal. The king may change the levels at "Version A" only vertically, while at "Version B" the king may also move to other levels at an angle.
  2. The rook can move apart from the horizontal combinations like in the 2D-chess, also vertical to all levels. For example from "a.1.I." to "a.1.VIII.", also from "g.5.VI." to "g.5.II."
  3. The bishop can also be moved like in the 2-D chess, diagonal horizontal, and in addition up or down diagonal vertical, to all levels. For example from "c.1.I." to "c.8.VIII.", or from "f.3.III." to "b.3.VII."
  4. The queen can be moved for all combinations like bishops and rooks at all levels. The queen may in addition use at "Version B" the spatial diagonal.
  5. The knight can also jump like in the 2D-chess, horizontal at the same level, as well as to other levels. For example from "b.1.I." to "c.3.I.", or from "d.4.V." to "e.4.VII."
  6. The pawn can not only be moved horizontal like in the 2D-chess, one position, (at the beginning also two positions), but also vertical upwards. An other figure can only be captured upwards or forward diagonal.
  7. Because the game can be turned by a turntable at 90 degrees, there is a optimal view possible. The "castling" is with the 2D-chess identical.
